Absentee military vote proposal for American Samoans

American Samoa’s Congressman in Washington, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, invited Command Sergeant Major Iuniasolua T. Savusa to discuss Samoans in the military and absentee voting for servicemen based abroad.

American Samoa’s Congressman in Washington, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, invited Command Sergeant Major Iuniasolua T. Savusa, who was in town on business, to join him in a meeting with high school students and teachers from American Samoa who were in Washington, DC for the Close Up Program.

Faleomavaega and Savusa took advantage of the opportunity to continue their discussion about issues of interest to Samoans in the military and their families, especially their ongoing joint effort to effect change to the American Samoa election law to provide active members of the military who are stationed outside of American Samoa opportunity to register absentee in order to vote absentee in local elections for the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, as well as for the House of Representatives.

CSM Savusa is command sergeant major for the United States Army Europe and 7th Army.
