Vili among recipients of PM's scholarship

Photo: Source: Zimbio.comSport Minister Murray McCully has announced the more than 400 athletes, coaches and officials who will receive a Prime Minister's Sport Scholarship this year.

Athletes will receive up to $10,000 to cover tertiary fees and a living allowance of $2,000 for six months.

Other recipients will get up to $50,000 a year for up to three years, all from a pool of just over $4 million.

This year's recipients include Olympic and world champion shot putter Valerie Vili; hockey international Simon Child; Silver Ferns netballer Laura Langman; Paralympic swimmer Cameron Leslie, and cyclist Tom Scully.
