“The NFL put a lot of effort behind marketing the event. Just because they changed the format, I see no reason why we wouldn’t be sold out and the ratings couldn’t be just as high when it’s held here next year,” said the
Hawaii Tourism Authority’s sports manager Michael Story.

For the first time in thirty years the game was held outside Hawaii and it was played a week before the Super Bowl. But Hawaiian fans want the game to be rescheduled after the Super Bowl.

“If they’re going to the Super Bowl they don’t want to risk getting hurt in some show-off game. They want to save their health for the big game,” said Katie McNamara, a NFL fan.

While another fan added

“That way if any of the Super Bowl players wanted to come, they have that option”. But after the present success of an early Pro Bowl game, the NFL may continue with the new trend next year.

Note: In professional American football, the Pro Bowl is the all-star game of the National Football League (NFL). Since the merger with the rival American Football League (AFL) in 1970, it has been officially called the AFC–NFC Pro Bowl, matching the top players in the American Football Conference (AFC) against those in the National Football Conference (NFC). Pro Bowl is generally played at the end of the NFL season.
