The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame’s Goodwill Tour will be in Auckland this week from the 9th to the 11th of June with a free event at the Kolmar Sports Complex in Papatoetoe on the 10th.
Led by Super Bowl Champions and Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Co-Founders Jesse Sapolu and Ma’a Tanuvasa, the Goodwill Tour will raise awareness about the many educational opportunities American Football can provide for young Polynesians in the Pacific.
Seats are limited and you can register online.
“We are thrilled to have the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame down under,” says Paul Manera, local organiser and Director of Bring it On Sports.
“Jesse and Ma’a are legends in the Polynesian community and American Football.”
Both Tanuvasa and Sapolu, who’s Goodwill Tour will also include visits to Apia, Pago Pago and Sydney, hope the tour will raise interest in American Football from more Pacific talent on this side of the globe.
Two-time Super Bowl Champion (as part of the Denver Broncos) Tanuvasa says that the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame is committed to reaching Polynesian youth throughout the world.
“American Football is a platform for educational opportunity,” he says.
Four-time Super Bowl Champion (as part of the San Francisco 49ers) Sapolu hopes that other Pacific youth will follow Jarryd Hayne’s example and give grid-iron a go.
