Kangaroos may introduce war dance in 2017

The Australian rugby league team are looking to introduce a war dance for when Australia and New Zealand host the next rugby league World Cup in 2017.

New Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga is a huge fan of the idea, and says it would be an ideal way of celebrating the 5-year anniversary of Australia’s last pre-game cry in France in 1967.

If fully embraced by the code, it is believed that the war dance could eventually become the Australian version of the haka and a symbol of national pride.

The idea has previously been floated by indigenous Kangaroos stars Johnathan Thurston and Greg Inglis, however Meninga said it need to be "all-encompassing" of other nationalities.

Although what’s wrong with the Indigenous war dance which Inglis led ahead of the NRL All Stars game?
