Hawaii, an island that’s traditionally been entrenched in American Football, will host a two-day Rugby League Festival where teams will play for the Ohana Cup at Aloha Stadium in August.
The Western Union Ohana Cup 2016 Rugby League Festival will take place on 19 and 20 August 2016.
The first day, Friday, Aug. 19, starts with a pre-game concert, featuring Willie K, Kapena, Siaosi, and Nesian Nine, a meet-and-greet with the players, food vendors and more.
The main events will take place on Saturday, Aug. 20, where teams will compete for the Ohana Cup.
Team Tonga battles Samoa, Fiji takes on Canada and the New South Wales Police go up against Oahu’s own Hawaii Chiefs.
ESPN 1420 AM will broadcast the main slate of games live on 20 August 2016, as well as streaming live audio of each of the matches via their website at ESPN1420AM.
It is currently unknown whether Sky TV will broadcast the festival.
