Inspiring Kiwis to be honoured at New Zealand Respiratory Awards

The tough challenges of living day-to-day with asthma and other respiratory conditions will come into sharp focus Friday 15th April at the national Respiratory Achievers Awards. The ceremony will be held at Te Papa in Wellington, from 6.30-10pm.

One Achievers winner is described as “An incredibly determined and strong individual even though her asthma makes her life exceptionally challenging.”

“Lots of normal everyday things are an effort, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t do them and that you shouldn’t do them,” said another winner.

The Respiratory Achievers Awards are in place to celebrate and honour Kiwis achieving great things despite living with a respiratory condition. Seven deserving Achievers winners from across the country will be revealed and presented with their Award at 7.30pm.

"The Achievers winners are incredibly inspiring people. They work hard to manage their condition so they can live their life to the fullest and achieve their goals," said John Wills, chief executive of the Foundation.

The Respiratory Achievers Awards will be held in conjunction with the Respiratory Media Awards, which are in place to reward quality reporting of respiratory issues in New Zealand.
