The 2011 Samoan Sports Association Youth Scholarship winners have been announced. Recipients will be honoured at a special awards ceremony on 2 February 2012 at the Pasifika Education Centre in Auckland.
Since 2003, the Association has awarded over 135 junior sportsmen and women scholarships totaling more than $100,000, with a number of recipients going on to represent New Zealand on the international arena in rugby, swimming, softball, martial arts, touch and gymnastics.
2011 applications exceeded all expectations and were the highest number the Association has ever had, from over 20 different sporting codes. The 2011 Youth Scholarship winners include:
