The 12th Festival of Pacific Arts is underway in Guam with 27 Pacific countries and territories participating, including a 100-strong artist delegation from New Zealand.
The two-week festival is the largest gathering to showcase the unique cultures of the region.
Guam's Paseo Stadium was filled to capacity for the opening ceremony for an event that included more than 2,000 performers from across the Pacific.
Christine Calvo, the First Lady of Guam said, “during Fest Pac, all of our voices will be heard as we express and showcase the stories of the people of the Pacific".
The theme of this year is: 'What We Own, What We Have, What We Share, United Voices of the Pacific.'
Held once every four years the Festival of Pacific Arts is a government-to-government invitation with the aim of strengthening relationships across the Pacific.
Creative New Zealand is responsible for Aotearoa’s presence.
Grace Taylor, one of the artists in the delegation, was featured in issue 66 of SPASIFIK magazine.
